Around 70,000 people were left homeless in the Ziarat and Pishin districts of Pakistan after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the southwestern province of Baluchistan in October 2008. Thousands of people were living outside in plummeting temperatures, making the need for shelter vital. ShelterBox deployed 1,100 boxes and worked closely with local Rotary clubs to ensure that the aid reached those who needed it most.
